FISHING & ANGLING in Jim corbett

The ramganga river and kosi rivers are the main lifeline of the corbett tiger reserve and supports a wide array of aquatic life forms within. Common otters (lutralutra monticola), mugger (crocodylus palustris), the fish eating gharial (gavialis gangeticus) and fishing eagles are just a few, who benefit from this perennial source. Famed for the 'mighty mahseer' the fighting fish, it is one of the finest rivers of north india for anglers. The largest mahseer (barbustor) catch in the last few years weighed 65lbs. Other species on this river include the goonch, malee (wallago attu), rohu and trout in certain sections.

Using corbett wilds jungle resort as a base one can opt for multi day fishing trips on various stretches of the ramganga and kosi river in india. These trips are escorted by our corbett wilds fishing guides - some of the finest in the area, and involve overnight camping by the river on it upper stretch.
